NDIS stands for ‘The National Disability Insurance Scheme’. It is a new initiative put in place by the Australian government to provide more support for Australians with a significant and permanent disability, as well as their families and carers.
The NDIS enables those with disabilities, mental or physical, to have the necessary care they require to live an ordinary life.
The NDIS aims to help those with disabilities early on so they can have a more significant improvement later in life.
At Wello Care, we are NDIS approved to provide you with the highest quality of care and support. We focus on building our participants skills and capabilities so they can continue to be involved in the community and find employment.
If you are under the age of 65 and are currently living with a significant or permanent disability that gets in the way of everyday tasks and activities, then you could be eligible.
At Wello Care, we recommend you read the NDIS Access Checklist , to find out more on the eligibility criteria.
If you have any inquiries, our lovely team is here to take your calls on 1300 404 222.
Once you have been approved for NDIS, you will be allocated funding on a yearly basis to purchase the care, assistance and equipment that is needed as determined by your assessing support coordinators.
As your circumstances, conditions or needs change, NDIS participants can also apply to have their funding plan reviewed.
Your NDIS plan is tailored to you and your goals. Your NDIS plan is based on the information you provide to your local area coordinator or support coordinators. Your NDIS plan breaks down and contains all of the different elements of support you need to build your skills and capacity, along with how much funding you will be allocated to each support service.
The NDIS covers an extensive scope of disability supports, services and equipment. These services are seen as ‘necessary’ to help our participants achieve their goals.
